Today, everything is modern, even our computer and water heater. Technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our life, which has made us more conscious of our surroundings. However, we can be moving too quickly without fully understanding what an algorithm is capable of. During my research, I learned that numerous studies have looked at how poor design, unintentional bias, and purposeful intervention can enable algorithms to create major financial losses, promote unfair outcomes, violate the law, and even cause fatalities.
I draw attention to the necessity of our taking this seriously and fully understanding it before allowing it to influence our judgements. In order to highlight the seriousness of the problem, I created this glitches effect to illustrate the potential for technological error. Devan Doyle, a contemporary artist, was my influence.
